Merlin Mail Rls 3 not Releasing Telephone Lines

I have another one. While placing test calls into the Merlin Mail I noticed that if I call in, get my greeting, then decide to disconnect, the merlin mail port stays busy and it does not disconnect the the co line. I went on the trunk in the monitor mode with my Butt set and could hear the prompts still playing.

I'm not sure that it's a big deal if this happens but I was curious if there was a way to fix the problem.

I seem to have good diconnect on the Loop Start lines from the CO as I do not have a disconnect problem when I am not hitting the Mail. I do not have a disconnect problem when I call into any of the mail ports internally.

Any ideas?

Are you getting dial tone messages in the mailbox, or when is this actually a problem? You may just double check that your vm ports have been set to rotary enable.

You have to set L/S disconnect to reliable/yes under lines/trunks in your system proramming

Thanks for the info guys. I can see how both replys are important. I forgot that I read that Lucent call supervision "reliable". I'll recognize the prompt the next time I'm in the programming.

I will try the rotary selection as well. I have it programmed to a menu with selector code to ring to extensions. If you press nothing the timeout is to ring the operator set. Then it goes to a mailbox on the operator set.
