I have a customer that is having a problem with a 408GS/LS. They want to determine if the card/port is bad or a telco issue. Is it possible to move the line/trunk off of the board in question to another 408 in the same cabinet without any reprogramming?

What you could do to determine if the problem is telco or the equipment is swap the line in question with another known working line on the system and see if the problem stays with the suspected port or moves with the line you suspect. Also check the wiring for any loose connections.

Depending on your expertise, there are some tests that can be run from the console or SPM to check the hardware. The maintenance manual describes these procedures. If you don't have one, it and others can be downloaded from Avaya's website: support.avaya.com. Lots of FAQs also are there.

Hope this helps!
