I need to dump the usernames, extensions and other selected info from an option 61. I am looking for any nortel or third party tools that will allow this dump to a csv file or text file.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

go to and look for the link to pepedog.

there is a file there mv.zip that will take all the tnb information and inventory information and parse it out to an excel spreadsheet. This is a great tool to keep around.

Hope this helps.

janaya is very correct, i use that spread sheat to keep a database file of my switch, replace it with a new one on the 1st of each month..if your using scripts you can use that single excel to put ever phone and trunk back into a switch in case of major meltdown, i have used it to take the stations out of a 21 and put them back in an 11...200+ stations, perfect in 4 hours, and i took several smoke breaks

thanks for the replies. how do i get the data to a txt file in order to use with this utility. I know how to print it but....

You have to be using an application like ProComm or HyperTerminal. Set it to capture the data to a text file.

Then prt your TNB with no entries. Once the TNB is done, stop the collection. You can open the file in notepad to make sure you have what you want.

Note: Procomm saves the data in a .cap file which may be recognized by your PC as being associated to something else. It also buries it in the c:\program files\symantec\procomm plus\capture directory. You can change that though in the Options section.

start search files or folders *.cap... i use the above option to put cap files on my desktop, open with any text edit (wordpad) them save as a txt file, after you get the excel, it will have a get file key, procomm is a great software, it saves me hours a week, i changed 400 ncos's today in about an hour.. might be worth looking into
