Having trouble with MAX. Printers not working, agents not updating. I have a spare app card that currently has rls 8.7 and I am trying to upgrade it to current 9.3 Can't figure out how to get it boot off the tape? I also tried doing a restore, it fails since it sees the 9.3 backup(which is correct per NPT's) and gives me the option to upgrade. Then the upgrade fails saying 8.7 to 9.3 is an invalid path...what now? Is there a way I can force it to boot from the tape or can I wipe my app card so it will accept 9.3 as a new load?

Thanks

Reboot it

wait for Autoboot in progress . . . To abort hit <BREAK>

Press the <BREAK> key (F5 on Terminals, <CTRL><BREAK> on most PC's)

at the bug> prompt enter bo 0,40 <CR>

(Make sure tape has rewound first ie LED has gone out)

The system will then try to boot from the tape drive.

Thanks MossEng! It let me do an upgrade so now I have the right version and I see all my reports, and my agents in list management. I do not see anything in the Global view though? And any report I print is blank just the header. Shouldn't those agents and queues be in global view since I did a restore?

You should see agents and queues in Global view automatically, Blank reports implys no historical data for the specified date. Is the HSL up? I assume the queues and ADS block is configured OK as it was working prior to this?

Also are you sure your not in PRECUT mode, easiest way to check is to try to log into maint terminal as precut and you should get a message that precut is not valid in product mode.

Thanks again MossEng you were right about it being in product mode. Now I cannot get the CC link to come up in Max. It is up in the switch HSL, SDIhigh, MON, PRNT all show enabled. I have disabled a few times now with no success. Any ideas? What about changing ports in Max for those links? Thanks

The Configuration Control or CC Link is an Senior Supervisor TTY Port on the Meridian, have you checked its configure as such.

USER ACD
SSUP YES
APRT NO

If the HSL is up, the MAX will be receiving realtime and historical data. The CC link is only used for making changes to queues and agents. CC link down only refers to this admin capability,

You cant change the HSL port on the MAX, but you could move the Config control link.

Thanks. If I go to global view I still don't have any queues or agents and it says "system initialization in progress" I can log in as maint and it looks like it's running?

That normally means the HSL is not up. If you log into the meridian, goto LD 48, STAT HSL, it should be UP, If its not,
then DIS HSL, ENL HSL, it should respond NOT READY, Log out of the Meridian. The HSL should now come up, watch out for the ADD000 message which indicates the HSL has come up. If you get any AMH messages there is a problem with the HSL link, AMH010 means the site ID on Meridian does not match the Site ID on the MAX, and until this is resolved the HSL will not come up.

That is the weird thing, all those in lb 48 stat as being enabled and I do get the ADD000. I put the old MAX card back in yesterday and now it's doing the same thing.. just sitting there saying it's initializing with all in ld 48 saying enabled. I really need to get this thing going, should I change out my MSDL those ports are on?

Running out of suggestions, Are the Meridian and MAX in same Mode ie POSITION or AGENT. Have you checked Capacity Configuration is correct. If the HSL is up I dont think its an MSDL problem.
