I need some clarification. I recently ran the User Usage reports in Mermail (for the 1st time) and I don't quite understand what:

Number of Sessions EM/ANS Logon

or

Number of Messages EM/ANS Logon

What exactly does EM/ ANS represent? I would of done a copy paste but it doesn't lay out correctly in the post.

EM = Express Messaging, such as dialed the Express Message DN, then dialed the mailbox number to leave a message

ANS = Telephone answering, such as hunted to mail or forwarded to mail, then left a message

So does sessions mean when the user went in to check for messages?

A session is any time you are connected to Mail. A logon session means being logged in with a mailbox#/password. Any other session (ie, not a logon session) is simply a time you were connected to mail via phone.

Hmm.. I wish this I could paste this in. I need to go in and do some serious house cleaning of extra boxes and need to be certain of what I'm reading before I start deleting boxes. Because it appears some of these boxes may have had messages left in them but no one is using them or checking them according to the logon counts being 0.

Another question. If I change the number of days that VM collects data will I need to reboot VM to take the change?

check your SEERS, Stale mailbox report will take care of that for you.

you getting a nightly or weekly print out from MERmail? Should be, it will have a list of Stale Mailboxes on it & show last activity on them

Correct, this is the report I'm looking at now. Several of these boxes show no activity and other only 31 days worth of data due to the current setting. I would like to bump it up to 60 or 90. Just incase some of these boxes are used intermittenly. I have property managanment person that I know uses his VM box but it shows no activity for him on this report for the last 31 days.

Curiosity has the best of the Cat. What does, Mato' Was'aka mean?

Good to see folks still holdin' onto their heritage.

But back on topic here. If I change the number of days that VM collects user data will I need to reboot the system?

You will not need to reboot. You can accomplish your goal easier though. In User Admin - Local Voice Users - select the "Find" softkey. Then specify "minimum days since last logon" (I think thats it) and enter in any number of days and you'ss list just those mailboxes that exceed that value
