Meridian Mail Black Screen

I came in this morning to a black screen from Mer Mail. She is taking calls and all seems well but the tape drive light is on and I am unable to log in remotely or from the terminal...just get a black screen? Should I pop the tape out?

1st make sure it's the output and not the screen.. i would not remove the tape yet... sorta the if it's not broke rule.. i would connect a pc to the screen to see if i could get it to talk.. if not your going to need a restart, which means your current backup may be used...
