We have a site with a Meridian Mail system. We need to do a back up on a system that has 80 active mailboxes. We have two DC6525 Data cartridges. I am wondering if that will be enough for this system? I understand there are two types of backups that can be ran. One a bootable backup and two only the mailbox data. Is this correct? Advice is always appreciated.

Never heard of a bootable back up tape for Meridian Mail. The 6250 was from the earlier versions of MM. The newer MM came with a 2 gig tape, seems like over kill for some MM systems.

for a 2 node system you need the bigger tapes

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

until last month i was backing up 1815 users to a single tape on mermail, now i use a single 50 slr on pilot
