Meridian M2018 Problem

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum, and have come here in order to gain knowledge about some telephones I recently acquired at an estate sale.

The phones are made by Northern Telecom. They are Meridian M2018's

Neither of them work when hooked to my phone line.

Neither of them require an external power supply; I don't see where one would go, anyways.

I hope someone out there can help me determine why these phones don't seem to work.

These phones need to work on a Meridian SL-1 PBX, and will not work on a standard home telephone line. Whoops by plugging that phone into a standard telephone line, it may never work again, even on a PBX.
