You could take the drive out of the MerMail, and hook it up
in a PC, and then use a Linux-distro like Knoppix to repair
or even copy the data onto another drive.
A simple command like:
would make the second drive a identical copy of the original drive.
Knoppix is full of disk-tools that you can use for this kind
of problems.
