Hello All,

More an annoyances than anything else.. in some (not all) of the applications I use when I hover the mouse over the menu item the background turns white and stays that way until I quick the application.

Any thoughts on what might be causing that?

Thanks
Steve

You mean, once the menu has vanished, you are left with a big white rectangle where the menu was?

Hope this Helps.

Hello Neil,

Thanks for responding. This is happening even previous to "activating" the menu. Specifically I see this with the File, Edit, View etc... menu items. And it's only the background which is change so instead of Black text on "greyish" background it changes to which background.

Actually just testing it more, it doesn't happen if I actually activate the menu. Only when I "hover" of the item

Again, more visual annoyance than anything else

Thanks

I think you have had your Display settings reconfigured!

Control Panel > Display Settings > Appearance > Advanced > Menu > Colour1 is the background colour > make sure that is set to grey, or whatever colour it should be, and Colour2 to Black. Appearance settings are strange, they dont always show up. It's like a bug windows versions never addressed. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Hope this Helps.

Thanks again Neil

No joy unfortunately. The value was in fact set to white but there was no change when changin it to the "default" color.

I think this setting is the backgound for the menu itself - for instance when I select FILE and see the New/Open etc.. drop down item list. This color is white. I looked for a MENU BAR setting - not sure what that part is called, but didn't see one.

Anyway, I always figured it was an issue with the individual applications - Textpad, Windows Media Player and a few others - but just thought I would post to see if other knew about it

Thanks

What if you try to specify a colour (say colour1:RED colour2:GREEN), does that overright the problem though?

Hope this Helps.
