Memory Upgrade Question

Hi Guys,
I am going to upgrade the memory in my PC.
Currently I have a 32Mb EDO memory installed.
Is it possible to remove the EDO memory and
replace it with 128 MB SDRAM ?
Does the hardware have to do anything with
the type of memory it can support? I have a NEC Ready 9733 computer that I use as a secondary Linux box.

Use the memory selector see if your computer exists in their database and see what they recommend. EDO memory may be quite expensive if you can find it. Could always look on Ebay for memory. People have to do something with their old computer equipment. A lot gets thrown away.

Every motherboard supports a specific type of memory. Some motherboards supported several types of memory. EDO Memory did not become popular in the industry. If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

These differant memory types physically require differant kinds of slots, so unless your motherboard has both types fitted No! you won't be able to change over.
Some motherboards did have two types, so you will have to check the manual or open the case. Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!
