Hi,
I checked out the posts in this forum and there are a lot of unanswered questions on memory problems.
Here's a new one... (hopefully with loads of answers :->)
I'm running CR8 against text files (my DB's ODBC driver was too slow, text files really improve performance and are much more flexible).
I have a report, a letter, which contains most of its' data in the header along with a small image (14K).
When we print 1 or 2 letters together there are no problems, but if we print 50 or more after a certain number we lose the image. Worse still, after the report is finished, we get insufficient memory errors in the other applications and we have to reboot.
The machine used has 128Mb of memory and Lotus Notes is running, and to top it all, we are running the report from Progress using RDC (do you really think there would be any memory left after all that :->).

Are there any miracle parameters?
Is there a patch (I installed loads already - Produit=8.0.1.0 CRW=8.0.0.395)? (I didn't find one on the Crystal web site)
Is Progress freeing up the memory properly (their COM object management s**ks big time)?
We could imagine shutting down some programs, but adding memory is not really an option (hey customer you can have our dandy reports from Crystal but you're going to have to put an extra stick of memory in ALL your PC's - my sales department will kill me).
Thanx for your help.
Cheers,
Paul.
P.S. I have read cr_memoryfull.pdf
