Are there programs that will tell you how much memory is on your video card??

Windows should tell you how much memory there is on your graphics card. Right click on the desktop, choose properties, click the settings tab. Then click the 'advanced' button and in the new window click the 'adapter' tab. It should list some of the features including the amount of Graphics RAM.
