Installed 2 64mb edo memory simms the 4112 compaq is reading them as a total of 40mb???
also when I push F10 It does not let me in to setup?

Some mother boards do not let you put above 32mb into a single EDO slot.
Also Compaq motherboards have onboard memery which you may need to take off or disable.
You may want to check what the max MB is for your motherboard.
What is the model number

compaq 4112 I could not find it on their home page.

Max memory is 128mb Its unclear about if it takes 64m sticks
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/consumerdocs/Consumer_QRG/presario4100_4400.pdf

You will probably have to contact compaq,Have you tryed 2 32mb sticks

I have 2 16mb I can try.

I need to figure out why f10 wont let me in setup, so that I can check to see if there is a memory setting that will work.

Thanks
Ray

This is a Compaq 4112 and the correct command is F10.
However it is not working?

Not familiar with that model , but some allow you to disable [F10] setup with a CMOS setting. If yours is one of those you might have to pull the battery to clear the setting. Ed Fair
