Memory Cluster AWE

I have an ACTIVE/ACTIVE cluster environment with 8 GB memory on both server. My goal is to take the maximum benefit out of this. Turning 3 GB on both servers will give 4GB free for fail over. I would like to know any way I can more benefit out of this server. Both are 2003 Server, enabling 3GB do in need to turn on the AWE?
