When ever i close a program on Windows XP home i get an error that looks like this " The instruction at "##########" referenced memory at "########". This memory could not be written. Click ok to teminate the program" This only happens when i close a program or about 50 of these pop up when i try to shut down. Any Help is greatly apreciated.

The "#" means a random nuber that changes with every error message.
Thanks,
David

This can also happen if you have a bad card in the system. If the "referenced memory at "########" is consistently the same address (or close)... look in Device Manager, and for each card plugged in to the backplane look under resources and see if that card uses the same address space.

A few things to try.

FAQ608-4650

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

To get further information about any error look in your Event viewer.
Look in the System or Application folder. You can get to the Event Viewer via right click My Computer icon and select Manage.

Any errors logged in the Event Viewer can be expanded by double clicking on the error line.
