Are you talking about a motherboard that supports older SDram and newer DDR, something like the ECS K7S5A, which has two pairs of memory slots for both types (one type at a time) well yes, you will have no problems using PC2100DDR (PC266) with a 200fsb Duron.

I have the almighty cheap K7ama (ECS maybe? the manual has no references to the company). It has two 168 pin sdram slots 100/133, and two 184 pin ddr slots. It claims the max memory bus is 100/133. It seems a lot of this ddr is in the 168 pin configuration, not the 168 pin (the mb does not support high density memory, very anoying because the I wanted to get a 512 memory chip.
