We need to change the names on a couple of our media servers as part of a hardware upgrade and I haven't been able to find a good process to follow. We want to minimize any impact on our current catalogs. Should I just set up a failover media server and not worry about restoring the catalog back to the original media server? What is the best/easiest way to get the catalog associated to the new system name?

So far I am thinking:

1. Set up failover media server (I believe this puts a copy of the media catalog on the failover system)
2. Backup the current catalog on the current system
3. Bring up the new system with the new name
4. Restore the catalog to the new system?
5. Somehow get the catalog info associated with the new name.

Thanks for your help.
