I have found little info on this, so here's what I want to do; I want to setup a media server with all the audio/video connections on it. Then from another workstation I want to start and stop media (the media will be playing on the server not the workstation). I've read about remotly programming windows media player and adding start points etc. so I think what I'm asking is possible, but, has anyone done a setup similar to this. I don't want the media on the web, just to TV's or Stereo's as appropriate.

Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks!

Why not set it up and then remote desktop to the server and go from there? You'd even be able to play back on the client when needed.

Thank you for your response, That probably wouldnt work the way I'm thinking. I'm looking to see if someone has set up a media server and remotly controlled it from a workstation (like starting a video from the workstation (programmically to run on the media server).

thanks,
Dale

How about MythTV? i think this can be done with that...
