media pool gfs or database problem?

I have this problem ever since i upgraded to Brightstor 11 from 9, its basically a media pool problem i hope.

i run incremental backups from sun-thur - all is fine.

friday i run a full backup and assign new tapes to the same media pool as the incremental. (which is my daily pool)

instead of grabbing the new tapes first, it appends to the incremental tape , then grabs the new tapes.

this is driving me crazy, i figured out a workaround, but i dont have a solution....

Check the following registry key :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\Base\Task\Backup

in here is a Dword value called "EnableMediaMaximization"

if this key is set to 1 full backups will append to incrementals, if set to 0 ARCserve should take e new tape for each full backup and the first infcremental of the week (if the setting in GFS is set to 'append media').
