Media Player: class not registered

Windows Media Player is reporting a "class not registered" error when trying to play supported content. We have reinstalled Media Player several times. Here is the last message I received from the person having the problem.

"...the ONLY error message I am getting for audio/video/midi/mpeg/wma/wmv is ‘Class Not Registered’"

Any ideas?
