Hope someone can help me with this problem - I've googled my butt off to no avail.

I am working on a system with the specs above. It worked fine until I ran windows update. Now the system stops responding whenever I have it connected to the router. If I start it up disconnected from the router it workds fine. As soon as I reconnect it, the very next operation I try to perform causes the system to hang. Wether I click on an icon or right click on the task bar - anything at all - the system hangs.

This is the second system I have had this problem on with Windows ME.

Anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried uninstalling the windows update that it worked fine before?

What network settings on the machine? (auto IP or fixed - is the router DHCP server?)

What he said about the update. Try assigning a static IP, gateway, and DNS.
