I'm managing a computer network. The server is running Win NT 4.0 and the machines are running windows 98SE. The server has the connection to the internet for surfing, email, etc. and all the machines access these services through the LAN. The machines all have MS Proxy Client installed for using programmes like MSN Messenger and so on.
We recently got a machine with Windows ME installed. I set it up to access the network, but when I tried to let it check email it told me error finding host. Checked all the settings and they were correct, but it just wouldn't connect. The browser was surfing but Outlook wasn't working. Then I noticed that MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger aren't working either. They are not detecting a connection to the internet, so I figured that the MS Proxy Client somehow isn't working on Windows ME. What can I do? Is there a Proxy Client update for ME or something? Please help.
