Here is my question. I have a Meridian Option 11c pbx connected to a MDR-2000 buffer box. What I need to know is exactly how I pull information from the buffer box. I wasn't given a cable to connect the box to a computer so I am unsure what cables I need, also if someone could give me clear instructions on what to do once I have properly connected the box to a PC would be helpful as well.
Note - I have been assured that the box is pulling information from the switch.

you need to set the box up with either a dial in or ip connection. if your using otm that can auto poll the buffer

I am using OTM for PBX management. I just want to know how to physically connect the MDR box to the computer ie. what cables do I need? Do I require a null modem? There is only a serial connection on the box itself so I am assuming I need a RS232 cable.

Connect the CDR port from the PBX, usually a TTY port programmed for CDR. From there the OTM will extract the info from the MDR if you wanna do traffic reports.

You need "direct" RS232 cable to connect MDR to a modem for remote CDR collection.
If you'd like to connect MDR to PC COM-port locally use null-modem cable.
