MDP Delta Patch

I've just ran the MIRCC from the ESPL site and need to load a Delta to my switch. In all the notes I've read today I've noticed a reference to remove all defective and obsolete PEP's. I've also noticed in doc's that running mdp refresh will do this while loading the delta. Can I not use the mdp refresh in ld 143 and load the delta patch and do the same or do I need to remove these other patches first. CS 1000m (81C) machine. Thanks

It depends what Patch (PEP) list you have?
I beleive from 9 you have to take out these PEP's in PDT

Then you can update, from there on its a refresh

I'M 4.5W DEPLIST 1. While reading the doc's, notes reference deleting peps while other area's (matrix dependency list 4.0/4.5 user guide from the espl web site) make it sound like the refresh comand will remove old peps. Especially if you use SS to deliver the delta. Page 65 of that doc. Just want to have my ducks in a row. This switch is installed in a hospital. No down time.

You should go into PDT and POOS & POUT the OBS PEPs in the list. Then do your MDP Refresh in 143, check to make sure that none of the new patches have special instructions, if they do then read them before you start just incase sysload is required.
