Installation of NNS 6.2 on Windows 2000 Pro reports the mismatch of odbc32.dll and odbcint.dll. This system has MDAC version 2.7 Service Pack 1 installed from the MS downloads site (
In this MDAC service pack, the versions are as follows:

odbc32.dll 3.520.9030.0
odbcint.dll 3.520.9001.0

We also downloaded and ran the MS MDAC Component Checker, which does not report any problems with these two files.

We've seen the section "Microsoft Data Access Components Check" on page 17 in the NNM 6.2 and NNM 6.3 installation manuals, which states that the versions of these two files must be the same. Since the versions are different in MDAC 2.7 SP1 and the component checker validates the MDAC configuration, does this mean that NNM can't be installed on this level of software?

This question was also posted by a co-worker on the HP ITRC Forum a few days ago but hasn't received a response. We're surprised that other NNM users don't seem to have hit this.

We submitted a support request to HP and received the following response. We have verified that it works, at least so far:

"The message you got during the NNM installation was only a warning. I have tried to ignore the warning and forced an NNM install. And the system runs OK. I can connect to database with no problem. I have discussed this issue with lab engineers and learned that: We have very limited use of the two [DLLs]. Even though we only tested NNM on MDAC v2.5, we do not expect to see any problem with MDAC v2.7. So my suggestion to you is to ignore the warning about ODBC DLL version mismatch, and go on to install NNM. If you run into any problem because of that, please report to us."
