Hi,

when i try to access md.conf i get this error?

/kernel/drv/md.conf: I/O error

does any one know about this?

Currently I only have access to Solaris 8 systems. The md.conf is only present on those systems that are running Solstice DiskSuite. The result of file /kernel/drv/md.conf says it is 'commands text' and it has the following contents

#
#ident "@(#)md.conf 1.7 94/04/04 SMI"
#
# Copyright (c) 1992, 1993, 1994 by Sun Microsystems, Inc.
#
name="md" parent="pseudo" nmd=128 md_nsets=4;

I hope that helps.

Is it possible your system used to use 'DiskSuite' but it was removed (partially), leaving references to the md.conf file? Just guessing. Please post further questions as appropriate.

Regards.

Mike
