I am(was?) one exam from my MCSE NT cert- for about 2 years now. I've had my head in work so much I dont know what the status of the NT 4.0 MCSE is. I heard it was going away, so I didnt pay any attention, then someone the other day said it was still valid. some jobs have a "requirment" for MCSE.

Now that I need to put it on a resume I dont know if I still can. I have all the core and TCP/IP. I needed Proxy, or one more elective. I will go for the 2000 version after that issue is resolved.

Thank you for your help ahead of time. Anyone remember when this site was young?

blakester,

Bad news, even though they did not retire this certification the deadline to complete it was February 2001. Since you passed all the core tests you could have taken the 2000 upgrade exam free but that ended December 31, 2001. On the plus side you still retain your MCP status and I think you can still use your TCP/IP test as an elective towards MCSE 2000.

Thanks epohl, oh well... gotta roll up my sleeves and hit the books.

Hi

Copied from the Microsoft site.

Individuals who earned the MCSE certification on Windows NT® 4.0 by February 28, 2001 remain certified. To learn more about changes in the certification policy, see the Microsoft Enhances Its Certification Program page. Hope this Helps

Maruis...

Where exactly did you get that information. I was an MCSE certified in NT 4.0. However due to job demands and LIFE..I did not get the time to fast track to Win2k. I have been procrastinating for the last 6 months on re-certifying.It is my understanding that as of Jan 1/02 the NT 4.0 MCSE's were null and void.

If you could give me a link to where you found your information that would be great.

Q. I am an MCSE and have passed the Windows NT 4.0 exams. Is my certification still valid?

A. The Windows NT 4.0 exams have not been available since March 1, 2001. However, MCSEs who have passed the required exams remain certified as MCSEs on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.

Hope this Helps
