While cleaning up some number ranges to use for a dial plan I was getting rid of "fake" numbers used for roll overs. Example Key 0=4444 (real DID) Key 1= 3444 (non-did) and I ran in to one problem If I have a DID with MCR keys on one set and an appearance, another MCR key on a second (secretary) set the secretary can not tell when the user is on the line. I thought I read an answer to that here and I was looking for some help.
Thanks ahead of time.

That is correct, once the line is answered, it is free for another call, you would hv to make it multi appreaence SCR or SCN if u want the sec to see it busy.

When one appearance of an MCR is busy on a call, all other appearances are "free". This is so you can have multiple calls on the key - hence Multiple Call Ringing - MCR

You will need to NUL all appearances and make the replacement an "SCR" or Single Call Ringing

The whole idea was to get rid of the out of range numbers used for roll over. Well, at least I can free up a lot of them if not all.

Could make all roll overs 5 digits, use less, open block.

How does that work? I am looking to free the lead digit.
If I have 12345 doesn't that still stop me from using 1234?

That is correct.

Here I own a block of 1000 DIDs 3000-3999

My phones are programmed with DID 3xxx and rollovers starting with 703xxx 713xxx 723xxx 733xxx etc etc.

Now that will limit me from using any future DID's starting in the range of 7030-7339, but I can live with losing a possible range of 300 numbers.

Yeah, if you use like 122xx, there is 10,000 numbers in the 122 unique range, and 121x, 123x, 124x, etc will be fine

Thanks, I can be trained with the proper use of patience and a 2 x 4.
Now I get it.
Thanks to everyone for the help.

You could also use a BFS key for the secretary to monitor the Boss' TN
