MCR Flash Module Upgrade - NT7R76AC and Rls 4.0

I am upgrading a site from 4.0 to 7.5 and need to upgrade the MCR flash modules. Does anyone know if this can be done ahead of time or can anyone point me to documentation on this? This is a critical site and the remotes are spread all over the county. We are wanting to do anything ahead of time that we can.
