I have read a lot of the posts on message waiting lights on in the morning and have tried some of the suggestions but may have missed one or so, I am experiencing this on at least one phone. I have MCD 6.0 SP3 12.0.3.15. When the message light is on in the morning and you access the voicemail there are no messages there. If you do a locate feature it shows the "callback" message is on which if I compare to a real message is identical. This software has been in for some time and this issue just started a few weeks ago
I have programmed one of my phones into the voicemail hunt group and did a callback cancel to x851 to no avail
I have gone through all the voicemail ports to ensure there are no other keys programmed on those ports and all phones and hunt groups to ensure that the extension experiencing the mw lights x851 is not programmed. I also ensured that all the ports are in the voicemail hunt group and that the first and last ports are not used as rads or any other purpose
I have downloaded the diag.dat file a couple of times and did not see the mw light even being turn on. I opened the diag.dat in word and got the following search results for that extension:

01/26 03:01:24 DEBUG 5300-00 vtmsgcheck=0[msg851.vox,0]
01/26 03:01:24 DEBUG 5300-00 msg=1[1,12,13,2,00001021]

then this morning this was what I did:

01/26 06:46:29 INFO 7013-04 Logged in to mailbox 851
01/26 06:46:29 DEBUG 5300-04 vtmsgcheck=0[msg851.vox,0]
01/26 06:46:29 INFO 5932-04 say_mbox_stats: f_handle=368, totmsgs=0, nm=0, om=0, tt=-1, em = 0, ret=0
01/26 06:46:29 INFO 1203-04 vta_s12: fh=368, tm=0, mrc=0
01/26 06:46:32 INFO 8483-20 mwi: vb_dial[*91851]
01/26 06:46:44 INFO 2403-04 VT_ON:0

I find it strange I cannot see the mw light being turned on (*90851) anywhere. I tried a real message on that extension and do see it being turned on and then off when deleted by the user

any help would be appreciated, next step may be a call to Mitel

Is 851 associated with mailbox zero in any way and does mailbox zero have a message?

Does 851 have keylines belonging to a huntgroup and said hunt group has a mailbox?

In the diag.dat file, at 3:00am you will see the VM refreshing lamps. This should help narrow the search.

thanks for the reply, 0 is not associated with mailbox 851, the only key on x851 is a headset, the phone is a 5312 set

I included the diag.dat for 851 when I did a search of any appearance of 851 and what I included is all I got that is what is puzzling to me. The diag.dat was one of the first places I looked.

What I was trying to get across is that more than one sequence of digits can turn on the lamp for 851.

Searching for 851 specifically is insufficient.

That is why I suggested looking at ALL of the phones that are refreshed.

With that list in hand, you can then analyse how each might be turning on the lamp for 851.

e.g.
MB 850 exists but doesn't associate with a real phone. Instead there is a speedcall for 850 that dials 851. In this scenario, a message in MB 850 will lamp 851
