Mbox locked : Contact Admin

We had some trouble with a mailbox, not being able to get in, whether this be related to user forgetting password or not, I don't know, but now after I reset the password in the F983 menu, the phone still says Mbox Locked ... Contact admin, after entering any password. Accessing the mailbox by pressing "Other" after F981 works correctly, even from this phone. How do I remove the lock on the phone/ mailbox?

 
Be sure that you have the right m/box; the m/box and ext don't have to match. Verify the ext of the set first (F*0).Go back in as an administrator (F983) and verify the 'ext' prompt for said m/box to make sure it is assigned to the phone you are trying to fix. Once you have that squared away, then reset password.
 
Yes, mbox 211, x 211. I did that, and that, and that.

I can access the mailbox, but not from that phone without hitting 'other', typing the extension (mbox number) and password, which I'd rather not make the person do (just trying to keep it simple for those I serve).

I did a search of the NAM manual for the message, and Acrobat found nothing.
 
sounds like your not entering the default password after you reset it.
Once you reset it you must enter the default password in F981 then you will be prompted to change it.

I can access the box from other phones, so I doubt that I don't know the default password (after all, I just created some 30 mailboxes after I installed the thing).

I'll check the title of the manual I was reading.
 
Is your voice mail a NAM? If so, a reboot will probably clear the issue. I've seen this a number of times on NAMs.
