I am wondering if there is a maximum number of fields that can be selected in an ODBC Data Adapter query?

If I select more than (approx) 100 the data adapter wizard rejects the Select statement.

The actual limit is probably not going to be a problem except that I would like to be sure that I understand the reason to avoid possible future problems based on an incorrect assumption.

Any feedback on this appreciated. [reading]

Another reason not to depend on wizards -- they don't scale.

I would use the wizard to generate a "typical" request, then modify it by hand to extend it to the 100+ columns you need.

You could always hard code your sql statment in to your code instead of using a wizard.
