This may be an easy question but I can'y figure it out
How do I get the internet explorer window to atomatically open maximized ? Currently when I click a link on a page the new window opens up with just the title bar and menu bar showing
Can anybody help?
Thanks

hi 65years;
It should be as simple as dragging the title bar (the whole window) to the upper left corner of the screen and then dragging the lower right corner 'chevrons' to stretch the window to a decent viewing size....then click the X to close it and reopen another window again (by clicking a link) and it should retain the size you just set...now maximize the window (by clicking the maximize box). Now close it by pressing and holding CTRL+SHIFT and mouse click the X to close it.

Also - if you right click any shortcut (in this case your IE shortcut) to start any program (.exe) from the Desktop or the Quick Launch bar - and choose Properties - you'll notice in the RUN box which has a dropdown menu for 3 choices;
Normal Window
Minimized
Maximized
choose Maximized and APPLY and OK

If you still have problems - there's a Registry Key value called "Window Placement"which becomes corrupted and needs deleting.
Start > Run REGEDIT
drill down to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
right click on Window_Placement and choose delete
close out and reboot
