Hi

Is there a maximum number of controls that can be placed on an Access 2K form?

If so, I assume a subform counts as one control,
and the controls on the subform don't count towards the total for the main form.

Thanks for your help.

Hi

Max number of Controls on a form is 512 (I think, see Specifications in help)

Yes subform counts as one control

Actually it's 754 controls OVER THE LIFE of a form or report. I believe the actual number of controls actively on a form is 255 or 256. If you find yourself bumping up against the maximum number for the life of a form, you can save the form under a new name, delete the original form, then rename the new form as the original form name. This "clears out" any controls previosly deleted, with the new form's life time count only being the current number.

Thanks to both of you for the info.

KenRay...
Checking the Specs is the way to go.
It says its 754 over the life of the form.

Your info was even better, esp. the tip about copying, deleting and renaming the form.

I am starting to review a number of inherited databases so I won't know for sure how well your advice works for me for a few weeks.

Thanks
