Hi guru's,

Is it possible to change a registry setting so that a server can be a Master browser. I know that by election a server would be elected over a workstation, but this is not happening and I don't know why. We run NT4 servers as well as 2000 servers and a number of workstations.

Please help

Ianglynn,

Try this,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters
IsDomainMaster TRUE

Good one Patty. Been there, done that. Had w2k pro machines with browsing turned on and I couldn't get them to join the domain. Turned off browsing and went into the registry you mentioned, made them FALSE and they joined the domain in seconds. Here's another star, you deserve it. Glen A. Johnson
