Group,
A consultant has advised that we have a master browser issue - which I know nothing about, but once I started reading posts on this forum about master browser problems, it seems likely that this is our issue. I'm confused on the registry setting "isDomainMaster" and the service "Computer Browser". When I set a pc to true for the registry setting "isDomainMaster" do I need to be concerned about all the other XP machines that have the Computer Browser service started? OR do I simply set "isDomainMaster" to true and I'm done---surely not??
Within our network, there are no pc's that have been specifically defined to be the master browser. We have a network of XP & 2000 pc's, & (2) 2003 Servers - which I intend to make one of the 2003 servers a master browser. We have no domain and two workgroups.
Any helpful hints with this issue would be appreciated.
