Margins-problem

Hi,
I'm using Excel 2000.
When somebody sents me an excel workbook, the margins are not the way as they should be.

The persons that sents me the workbooks says at his computer everything looks ok.

I receive very large workbooks and it's a crazy job to set the margins at their right position.

Can i do something about this ??

Are you talking about what this workbooks printer page setup is set as?

Are you both using the same make/model of printer?

If so, do you have the smae printer driver installed?

These are the kinds of things that usually cause these kinds of problems.

No we are not using the same printers, i already was thinking it something to do with this.
But is there no way to correct this problem without changing the margins everytime ?

What exactly is wrong with the margins?

If it is affecting something like centring on the page maybe different setup options should be used instead of specific margins.

What about using fit to page, or centre on page?

I'm sorry but it are not the margins but the printarea is not the same.
So, a part of the first page appears on the second page etc.

One thing you could try is to do scaling in Page Setup, and reduce the percentage from 100 downwards until you get the look you want.

You could also ask the person responsible to format the sheets properly, by inserting page breaks at the appropriate places, instead of letting Excel doing automatic page breaks.

Scaling doesn't work but i'll ask them as you you said to insert page breaks at the appropriate places.
