I have a Multitech RASFinder network modem device (Similar to the old Shiva's) which uses a client side piece of redirector software to map a virtual com port through the network to the netmodems in the Multitech device.
I can install the modem drivers fine, and from an app such as hyperterminal which uses Windows Telephony, all is well!
However, we are using this solution for products such as Natwest Bankline, and unfortunately, this particular product does not work well with Windows Telephony, it does however have it's own internal modem divers and you can ordinarily just point it at the Com port for the modem, select an appropriate internal driver and away you go.
The problem however is that the bankline software can only address Com ports up to Com4, but the redirector software when installed on the Citrix servers is only givenb the option of creating a Virtual Com port starting at Com10. (On a PC, all Com port numbers are available except the local physical ports already in use)
So, my question is this, what is preventing the redirector software having access to Com port numbers below 10 in Citrix? and can I free/release these to be used by this software?
