disconnected in net use. Any other ideas than setting time outs to -1 using net config server or by using the registry, changing the bat file to use ip instead of pc name.

I have tried all of these and still nothing seems to work. I don't have problems with the Windows 2000 Servers or an XP station running the same script.

Hi Drew,

I think the reason is then length of the sharename, if it's on a NT Server.
Does this occur with sharenames shorter than 9 characters?

Actually ended up reloading the pc with Win98, realized how much you are limited in Win98, so I dual booted Win2000 Pro and the red X's have vanished.

So I don't know really what that solved but they are gone.

Thanks,
