W2k with Eudora and Corel running simultaneously is having mapi problems. After questionable installation of WinFax Pro both Corel Address book and Eudora display mapi32.dll errors. It is not possible to turn Mapi off in Eudora, and Address book will not function. Instructions are to contact MS re: mapi, but knowledge base suggests only uninstalling Outlook (cannot, but removed Outlook Express). In Eudora I have tried running fixmapi.exe, but it doesn't work.

I have tried reconstructing Corel (v9 offers a tidy fixit option). No use. I am removing and reinstalling Eudora.

WifFAx has to be uninstalled manually. As usual (symantek programs have a tendency...) the installation can't find the uninstaller.

Suggestions on reinstalling the Mapi32.dll files other than the above?

Do you have the latest version of Eudora installed I belave it is up to 5.2.0.9 or above now. If not upgrade yours to the newest version it may resolve this problem.

Thank you. I resolved the problem by reinstalling everything. I have paid 4.3 and don't really want to invest in 5.2 or deal with ads. Note that I simply requested a download site for the 4.3 upgrade, which I finally found on my own. They don't seem to want to share it.

For what it's worth, here is the information from Qualcomm -
Hello,
You will need to reset your eudora.ini file:

How to reset your settings

Eudora allows you to reset your settings while retaining your Internet Service Provider information.

To reset your settings, hold down the SHIFT and CTRL keys. With your mouse, go to the TOOLS menu and select OPTIONS. A warning screen will appear, read it and hit the yes button.

Warning: When you reset your settings, only the information listed below is retained:

Login name and the name of your POP server*
Your SMTP host*
Your return address*
Your real name*
Your ACAP server

You will also want to update to the 5.2 version of Eudora from this website <--

Lol, yea that Qualcomm allright. I dont like Eudora much my self, but we have users on our network who use it and dont know other email programs so I have to support it.

They want to sell 5.2, but I just don't see the advantage. Other programs? I'm all ears. Which other programs do you recommend. Up until now I have found Corel preferable to Netscape and Outlook (which won't let me use it anyway). One of the great advantages are the very good filters and the filing options, which let me organize mail almost as a database. The negative so far has been it's tendancy to have a nervous breakdown every year or so, and it is the only program on the computer which still freezes after w2k installation.

At any rate, what other software programs. I would invest in a better program, just not more money to Eudora.
