Hi All,

WE are having colossal problems with removing an install of Exchange 2003. Upon rebooting, the server tries to restart the exifs service which does not exist. That's problem one.

When I run the exchange setup cd and choose to uninstall Exchange, I get errors with activesync and OMA that prevent me from continuing the uninstall. I have tried changing, removing and reinstalling but I can not correct my installation.

Short of formatting the drive, is there any other way of manually uninstalling a corrupt installation of Exchange 2003?

Cheers

ab

I'm having the exact same problem - have you managed to solve it?

That works. We deleted the registry entries, renamed the exchange folder, rebooted and attempted to re-install Exchange. This failed in part, which was ok. The uninstall could then work successfully.

After that, the install worked perfectly.

Thanks - not sure how I missed that kb article?!

It's one of those things where you had to know it was there, or at least what keywords you put in there.
