Below are the procedures I use for the ESS testing.

Before starting, do a save translations all command.

Test procedures
1.. Log into the ESS server
2.. status ess port ( this will show the port network connections )
3.. type: get forced-takeover ipserver-interface all
4.. status ess ports again to see connections
5.. test all connections and voice recording capabilities.
6.. reverse procedures for recovering the port networks to the Main servers.
7.. log into the Main server
8.. type: get forced-takeover ipserver-interface all
9.. statue ess ports
10.. display alarms

This will test the ESS server’s ability to run the operation.

Note, I'm new here, and replied to a thread called "Manually force system into LSP Mode", I had a .txt file saved on my PC, that explained how to do that, and also had a .txt file to test ESS Mode.

I hope this was appropriate, as I'm new to this Forum, I don't know the Forum protocol.

FYI, about me, 24 years Avaya CSE.

Best to all, and thanks for this Forum! I found this Forum by Google'ing for a VPNRemote Phone problem. I'm running a VPN Phone (4621SW) from at home, over RoadRunner ISP, and it's sweet!

You may want to submit this as a FAQ CrossTalkTek. Then you can point someone to it when they have this sort of question comes up.

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.
