hi all,

i work as an IT assistant in a plooky wee company and theres always been problems with our Exchange 5.5 Server. we use a simple batch file to "pull" emails down to our server from the 'net, and theres one email address that always gets rejected, the error message i see is as follows:

*********
Message from: "Watson
to: user@domain.co.uk
SMTP MAIL FROM command failed, reply
533 malformed address: <"Watson>

*********
- where user@domain.co.uk is one of our users and is valid and receives mail from others with no problems

- the full email address of "Watson is in the following format: [where 'x' are letters, and n are numbers]

xxx.xxxxxxn@xx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com

****

so far the only way round this is to retreive the mail from the internet manually [thru our webmail] and delete it from there, otherwise all our mail gets blocked until i clear it.

my boss is not remotely interested in this matter & it bugging me, as i cannot fond a solution/explanation for this.

ps. my exchange knowledge is not that advanced, but if someone could point me in the right direction i could then take it back to my boss with a better idea of whats happenning,

any ideas?
thanks a lot guys
luni
