making a page NS4 compatible

Hi,
I just made a really simple page using Dreamweaver MX, and I want to make sure that it is NS4 compatible. Is there some sort of shortcut or command that will make sure the stuff I put on my web page will work properly in NS4?
In particular, I've run into problems with the provided image rollover function and I can't seem to use a simple selection drop-down box when testing the site on Mac NS4.73. Any suggestions?

Hi Webster!

The only tool to check browser compatibility is the browser! You may find some tools on the Net that may help you but the final result how it looks and works you may see only in the browser!

With the second question I'm afraid I cannot help 'cause don't have Mac to work around the problem... :-( Good Luck!

go to browser central at netscape and downlaod a few old netscape browsers.

Set them up as secodnary browsers in DM then make sure you preview in both IE and old netscape versions.


Lots opf tutes on the net re:- how to write code for netscape. As a rule, don't expect style sheets to work with form objects or tables to well, and tables with a mix of fixed width and % cells are difficult to do.

After you install netscape on your system, you can even use DreamWeaver preview shortcuts to speed up your preview in Netscape. Just go to File->Preview in Browser->netscape.exe (or something like that). You should notice that beside the browser will be a shortcut key. As long as you've saved the document previously, you will be able to simply press F12, F11, or whatever is specified to preview the file in Netscape or Internet Explorer.
