I've changed all the style and start menu options to classic but there is still the shut down menu that has the XP cartoonish look. It has those big buttons that say Shut Down, etc instead of the 2000 style with a drop down list.

I hate it! How do I make it look like 2000? I know I've done it before but for the life of me can't remember how. It's a setting somewhere....

Have you tried turning off the Welcome Screen via "Change the way users log on or off" in Control Panel/ User Accounts? If you do this you will lose the ability to use Fast User Switching, but will get a drop down Shutdown menu.

Ahhh, that has done the trick. You've saved my sanity, and since I was considering suicide, possibly my life as well.

Thanks for the help.

Are you in active directory? If so, you could put a setting in group policy to "Always use classic logon" for all pc's in your network.

Thanks,
Andrew
