I have a subreport with a width of about 1". How do I make this wider???

Thanks,

Hillary

Just select and expand it just like you would any other field on the report canvas.

I don't see anyway to do this.

I have expanded the Deatails section (height) and clicked in the white area but there are no selectors to make the report width wider.

CR9

Is there something I'm missing???

Thanks,

Hillary

Do you see a box around the subreport? Select it and expand it using the right anchor...

I don't see a box around the subreport. Is it possible that this is a setting that needs to be turned on?

Thanks again!

Hillary

Did you create this report?
Are you sure you are looking at a subreport?

You can right-click the subreport and in the format options for it you can turn off the box around it, but if you created the report, you would have seen the box by default.

Even without the box, when you select the subreport, you would get a box surrounding it (with an anchor mid-way down the right border for extending width.

I want to clarrify that I am looking in the subreport (this is where I want to widen the space) and not the subreport on the main report.

The subreport was created via the wizzard from the main report.

Yes, I'm possitive I'm in the Subreport...I can see (some) of my data in the main report. If my subreport was wider than I would be able to see all of it : )

Again it's not the subreport field on the main report but the actual subreport.

Thanks!!!

Hillary

OK, that changes the whole picture.

When you are designing a subreport, it's like designing a main report. Are you saying you need to widen the page???

Are you seeing all the data when running the subreport but not when running the main report? If so, then you need to widen the subreport field in the MAIN report -- NOT in the design window of the subreport.

The white area in the subreport (design) is only 1" wide so the only way to see 2 fields from the subreport on the main report is to squish the data. If I could widen the subreport to 4" then the data will display correctly on the main report.

I appreciate your continued efforts : )

Hillary

I already tried that : )

All the margins are no more than .25

Also, was it designed with multiple-column option? If so, go into the section expert, Layout tab, and change the record width.

I bet that was the issue...)

Ok, it's working now...it feel like such an idiot : )

The amount of white space on the subreport (design) is controlled by how wide the subreport is on the main report.

You probably conveyed this to me earlier and I didn't understand. I was convinced the setting was on the subreport (design) not on the main report.

Thank you for working through this with me!
