Does anyone have a fix for this scenario?

I have a 61C running 25.40 at my main site with IP line cards installed. I have my data LAN extended to another site a few blocks away, and I have about 30 i2004 IP sets located there, registered back to my main site 61C.

Problem is, if a user at the remote site dials 911, I'm sure it's going to send the wrong location info, and they will dispatch emergency services to the wrong location. How can I send the correct location info, or can i at all?

Not sure if this is a legal requirement but I assume so

thanks!

Besides legal requirements, dont you think you want 911 to go to the right place. Go to LD 117 and configure the zone assigned to the IP phones with the correct ESA information for that location. There are two or three entries that have to be made. Look in the NTPs for the correct syntax as I dont remember exactly.

as far as the question "do i want 911 to go to the right place", i dunno some of th eusers we have their are jerks...haha jk - of course i do thats why i asked...i was just curious if there is in fact a requirement, im sure there is but never heard of it

thanks for the info, i will look for the commands tomorrow for LD 117

can you direct me to the proper NTP's or email them to me, as I cant find this info anywhere. I used the "?" help feature in LD117 but still cant get enough info

thanks

NTP 553-3001-213 IP Peer networking Installation and Configuration is where you can find the ESA info.

The legalities are up to your location, right now. as E911 moves its way across the country, you will be required to show the callers number, floor and cubicle, if you are in a multi building campus environment.

I know in some parts of Texas, i think in Dallas, it is required, but it will get to where you are at.

Cell phone companies are getting to the point where they have to provide this information as well, via GPS. There was an incident earlier THIS year where a couple froze to death because they got lost and EMS could not find their car, and they dialed 911 5 or 6 times.

unkalary can u somehow forward me these docs..i am an end user/in house voice tech not a direct nortel vendor so i dont know how to get these NTP's, i cant find it on the Nortel site, unless I'm just not looking hard enough?
