Make a report Read Only.

Hi,

Is it possible to make a report read only??

I have spent an age getting my report to look the way it does, the last thing I want is for someone who does not know what they are doing to wreck it.

I have a number of copies of it already, but my life would be easier if they could not change it, especially the design of it.

If you have .RPT files and people have Crystal Reports (a compatible version of course, not 2 versions below what you are using), then there's not much you can do. They can always take the Read Only property off the file (if they are running Windows 9x/ME) or do a Save As if they are running NT and you have tried to protect the file.

The only real solution is using the RDC inside of VB (or C++, Delphi, etc.) so that you don't hand out the .RPT file.
