Make a .bmp transparent and insert into an eps.

I have a PDF file which I have converted to Test.ps. Into that file I want to insert bitmaps. The bitmaps are also converted to TempPicEPS.eps. However, I would need to make the bitmaps transparent. I was suggested to use ImageMask, however I am not sure how to implemented. I am very new to PostScript. thus if you could help me it would really be appreciated.
